Farewell, Dear Yukon. You truly were “our best friend”.
Born in Gilpin County May 6, 1999 you lived your entire life in the beautiful Rocky Mountains. You surveyed your world from the upper deck of your home looking at the reservoir and the Continental Divide. The critters that roamed around in our yard fascinated you. You gave those squirrels quite a challenge, never catching one, but enjoying every moment of the thrill of the chase. One night you barked and warned us of a bear on our deck. Mr. Fox always caused some commotion when he came to the yard. Your biggest joy was going for walks in the forest with Poppa. How excited you were to stick your head out the window of the old Explorer as you drove off to explore. Buster, Roxy, and Cheyenne shared in these journeys. Your canine siblings adored you and you taught them all that you knew as they came into our family group. You always had such a big smile for everyone. You were a “happy dog”. You liked to think you were the “top dog” and wanted to let other pooches know that sometimes. We know that now you are running in the forests in Heaven with all of God’s creatures. Evan is there with you to curl up with when you take a nap…
